Pathway Church

Our mission is to be a community of believers who are totally committed to serving God and building His kingdom, who passionately love Jesus and all those who follow Him, who pray fervently and who freely and openly worship God with all their heart, mind and body.

In the model of a New Testament church given in Acts 2:42-47, there were five areas in which the early church was actively involved.

·        Outreach– Acts 2:47 – And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.

·        Discipleship – Acts 2:42 – And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine.

·        Fellowship – Acts 2:42 – And they continued in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread; Acts 2:46 – So continuing daily with one accord in the temple and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart.

·        Prayer – Acts 2:42 – And they continued in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread and in prayers.

·        Worship – Acts 2:47 -- …praising God…

Our mission is to be active and efficient in all of these areas. Let's break down the mission statement with this in mind.

Our mission is to be a community of believers (FELLOWSHIP) who are totally committed to serving God (WORSHIP) and building His kingdom (OUTREACH & DISCIPLESHIP), who passionately love Jesus (WORSHIP) and all those who follow Him (leads to FELLOWSHIP), who pray fervently (PRAYER) and who freely and openly worship God with all their heart, mind and body (WORSHIP).

Notice the adverbs—totally, passionately, zealously and fervently.

It is extremely important, though, to keep in mind that the serving, loving, praying and worshiping are not the most important goals here. These "doings" must come from the position of "being." Our first emphasis is "…to be a community of believers." We are to first be believers in Jesus Christ and then be a community. It is out of this community that all of the actions will flow and be effective in building the kingdom of God.

This mission also fulfills the direction that God has specifically given to Pathway Church to be a:

 #1.         A House of Prayer

#2.         A House of Praise

#3.         A House of Power

#4.          A House of Pentecost

Every ministry and function of Pathway Church must be measured against the Mission Statement. Every thing we do will be planned to fulfill one or more areas. The Mission Statement does not usually change because it is based on a scriptural model.  How we fulfill the Mission Statement (The Vision) will change periodically based on experience, leadership (or lack thereof), specific ministry direction and many other factors.
